About the Position
Thompson Rivers University, School of Business and Economics (SoBE) invites applications for a teaching Open Rank tenure-track appointment in Supply Chain, starting July 2022. In this teaching position, candidates will maintain an active teaching agenda 8 sections per academic year. Each section has a maximum of 40 students. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach in a variety of Supply Chain courses.

About the Department of Management, International Business, Information and Supply Chain (MISC)
Our department is a collection of individuals interested in what keeps the modern world functioning. While we are defined as academics in supply chain, international business, strategic management, and management information systems, we believe that we have a responsibility as global citizens to try to make the world a better place now and in the future. Our interests are broad but may be encompassed by two primary themes: global citizenship and data-driven decision making. We invite individuals interested in teaching topics related to these themes to apply for this position. Examples of such topics include, but are not limited to, humanitarian logistics, sustainable supply chains, supply chain analytics, bottom-of-the-pyramid with a global focus, indigenous supply chain issues, supply chain transparency, and international business as an enabler of improved human welfare.

With over 4000 on-campus students, the School of Business and Economics is the largest business school in the interior of British Columbia, offering undergraduate, post baccalaureate, and graduate programs in business and economics including Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Environmental Economics and Management, and Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management. SoBE seeks applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching in the field of Supply Chain. A Ph.D. in Supply Chain or a related area is desired. Applicants who are ABD and close to completion of their PhD, as well as applicants with a master’s level credential in supply chain management and significant professional experience, are welcome to apply and will be considered. The position entails developing and sustaining high-quality teaching and learning environments for students while being committed to developing and maintaining strong teaching skills. It is also expected that the candidate will make a strong ongoing service contribution to the department, school, university and/or the broader community. The ability to teach multiple classes in the department is desirable.
