The Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics, in the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba is seeking an outstanding individual to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Applicants with expertise in biochemistry and/or medical genetics and using model systems to study an area relevant to genetic disease are encouraged to apply to Position Number 28509. Candidates should hold an MD or PhD in a biological discipline with at least 3 years of relevant post-doctoral training. Candidates must have an excellent research record commensurate with their level of experience, as evidenced by strong publications in high impact journals and the potential to secure competitive extramural peer reviewed grants; a history of mentoring; and a history of effective and productive collaboration. The position start date could be as early as January 1, 2021 or as negotiated.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an externally-funded research program through strong collaborations both within and outside of our Institution. Priority will be given to applicants whose proposed research program is in an area that aligns with previous departmental strengths in cancer biology, rare genetic disorders, developmental biology, and mouse modelling. In addition to leading a strong research program, the Candidate will also actively contribute to undergraduate and graduate student teaching and mentoring and committee service within our Department.
