ENROL is an interdisciplinary Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND doctoral programme at TU Wien that is set up to educate and train a new generation of 20 highly achieving early stage researchers (ESRs) to study and develop novel technologies and engineering solutions for the life sciences.
ENROL provides a 3-year long doctoral training for 20 international PhD candidates within an English-language curriculum. Our programme integrates a broad spectrum of scientific and technological fields related to molecular bioengineering, biophysics & biochemistry, biomechanics, biological imaging, biomaterials, computational modelling, and tissue engineering, offering the PhD students life-long flexibility for continued professional growth.
ENROL offers 24 interdisciplinary research projects to choose from, in the above-mentioned fields. Additional details on the individual projects can be found at: https://www.tuwien.at/en/enrol/research-projects
Each PhD candidate will be supervised by at least one of the ENROL Principal Investigators: https://www.tuwien.at/en/enrol/principal-investigators
Candidates may also propose their own PhD research project, i.e., different from the ones proposed from ENROL. In this case the candidates should first establish contact with the supervisor representing the desired research field https://www.tuwien.at/en/enrol/principal-investigators and ask for a letter in support of the project, which they will upload together with a summary of the proposed research project. An Ethics Support Team is also in place to assist the candidates during the preparation of their proposed research project should they choose not to apply for one of the proposed ones. For more information visit: https://www.tuwien.at/en/enrol/ethics-support-team.
