Position Description

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary has an opening for a Sessional Instructor position in the Master of Engineering focus on Software engineering program.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the graduate level course ENEL 645 “Data Mining and Machine Learning’.  ENEL 645 is listed in the University of Calgary Calendar for Spring 2020 session. The successful candidate is required to be available during that entire period. The successful candidate will be expected to have earned at least a Masters in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field, and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to this course.  The successful candidate must also have very good previous teaching performance or show the potential for very good to excellent teaching ability.  It is strongly desired that the candidate is registered as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian Province.

ENEL 645 course description:
Types of data mining: classification, clustering, association, prediction. Processes: data preparation, model building. Techniques: decision tree, neural network, evolutionary computing, Bayesian network. Applications: multi-media, text and web mining.

Course scheduled hours:

Lecture: Monday, Wednesday 9:00- 11:45pm
