Lab – Abdel-Mohsen – Post-Doctoral Fellow (Biomarker Discovery)

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the lab of Dr. Abdel-Mohsen to study viral-host interactions during HIV infection and other viral infections. The laboratory has multiple NIH-funded translational and basic research projects available for consideration.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree or be close to obtaining their doctoral degree with a strong background in biomarker discovery and one or more of the following: glycobiology, microarray, capillary electrophoresis, lectin array, mass spectrometry, working with human clinical specimens, multi-omic data analysis. Additional experience on flow cytometry, tissue culture, and molecular biology are preferred. Strong candidates will have at least one-to-two publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.

The Wistar HIV research program also leads the Martin Delaney Collaboratory Program, BEATHIV, focused on advancing the HIV cure agenda through both basic and clinical studies. The collaborative team includes more than 60 members worldwide from academia and industry.
