Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Carbon Finance, Carbon Management and Low Carbon Technologies

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is a world-renowned higher education institution and one of the top universities in China. It has established itself as a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized university and ranks 60th worldwide (QS 2020).

China-UK Low Carbon College (LCC) was established by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) with the joint efforts of the University of Edinburgh (UoE) and Shanghai Lingang Government in May 2017. LCC is the first college in China that pioneers in low carbon research and education. The vision of the college is to become a world-leading higher education institution with international influence, providing a platform for graduate education, scientific research, executive training, and innovation and incubation in the low carbon field. LCC has established partnerships with first-class universities including the University of Edinburgh, University College London, Warwick University, etc.

LCC is looking for specialists in the areas of finance, management, environment, energy, atmospheric science, and geophysics, including but not limited to:

1. Climate Change and Countermeasure

2. Carbon Finance and Carbon Management

3. Smart Energy and Big Data

4. Renewables and Energy Storage

5. Low Carbon Combustion and Engine System

6. Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage

7. Sustainable Technologies and Waste Resource Utilization

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Chair Professor/Distinguished Professor/Professor:

The successful candidate will have:

(1) a PhD in related discipline and working experience as a professor in a world-class university or research institute;

(2) an outstanding tracking record of research achievement and a history of funded research;

(3) a record of teaching achievement and a commitment to excellence in postgraduate education;

(4) exceptional and proven leadership abilities in conducting first-class, innovative and collaborative research.

Associate Professor:

(1) Should be able to conduct and lead independent and innovative research projects and demonstrate strong academic potential and teaching abilities;

(2) Should have at least three-year working experience at a world-leading university or research institute overseas. Outstanding scholars are specifically encouraged to apply.

Assistant Professor:

(1) Should be able to conduct and lead independent and innovative research projects and demonstrate strong academic potential and teaching abilities;

(2) Should have at least two-year working experience at a world-leading university or research institute overseas. Outstanding scholars are specifically encouraged to apply.
