In the department of Applied Physics and Science Education at Eindhoven University of Technology, we create impact. Impact on current and future societal challenges. Challenges we all face now, and those that the next generations will live through. Connecting fundamental and applied research, educating the engineers and teachers of the future, and in partnership with our high-tech region, we accelerate the energy transition, we develop sustainable materials and processes, we equip and empower STEM teachers, and we build quantum and photonic technology and next-generation high tech systems. Our department houses world-class fundamental and applied research. 100 professors of all ranks focus on research in 5 interconnected domains: Plasma&Flow, STEM education research, Materials, Quantum, and Optics&Photonics. Our campus offers state-of-the-art research labs and focused interdepartmental institutes to support your work in these domains.

We take our societal and economic responsibility as a University of Technology seriously, and collaborate on academic and public-private level, including a close connection with industrial partners, particularly in the Brainport region – Europe’s premier high-tech innovation community.
