This project will advance the treatment landscape for metastatic melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer. Although new therapies work for some patients, there are many that do not respond or become resistant to treatment. In this project you will explore protein ubiquitination (a mechanism that regulates protein activity within the cell) and identify potential new therapeutic targets.

The scholarship is funded by the Lions Cancer Institute (founded in 1989), who have a long-standing commitment to skin cancer screening and research in Western Australia. With this scholarship, the Lions Cancer Institute will support an HDR student to undertake melanoma research.

The Department of Education is committed to creating culturally responsive environments that build on the strength of Aboriginal students, engage them in learning and enable them to thrive academically and socially. A key part of achieving this is increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people teaching in secondary schools.

The Bob Hawke Aboriginal teacher scholarships are named in honour of Bob Hawke’s lifelong support of Indigenous rights and his vision of a fair and inclusive Australia.

An undergraduate scholarship valued at up to $30,000 including:

• A total of $28,000 to support you to complete a Bachelor of Education (Secondary). This will be an amount of $7,000 for each year of full‑time study, or equivalent.
• A $2,000 appointment allowance, if you start full-time employment as a teacher in a Western Australian public school within 12 months of completing the teaching course.

A postgraduate scholarship valued at up to $16,000 including:

• A total of $14,000 to support you to complete a Master of Teaching (Secondary). This will be an amount of $7,000 for each year of full‑time study, or equivalent.
• A $2,000 appointment allowance, if you start full-time employment as a teacher in a Western Australian public school within 12 months of completing the teaching course.

Eligibility criteria

In order to be considered for the scholarships, you must:

• Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and reside in Western Australia
• Not already be in receipt of a tertiary scholarship or other financial assistance for the purposes of study from the Department of Education
• Confirm that you express an interest in working as a secondary teacher in a Western Australian public school, upon completion of the teaching qualification
• Not already be a qualified secondary teacher
• Confirm and provide proof you either:
  • Intend to enrol in an accredited secondary teaching qualification at a recognised Australian tertiary institution by closure of 2024 enrolments
  • Are enrolled in an accredited secondary teaching qualification at a recognised Australian tertiary institution, and have completed no more than one year of full time study towards that qualification.

• Fill in all relevant sections.
• Address the selection criteria in a written response (1 page).
• Prepare your resume and have it ready for submission including up-to-date experience, employment details and any activities which may support your application.
• Collate documentation of academic transcript and proof of enrolment or intention to enrol. If you are not currently enrolled, please provide a letter from a referee confirming your intention to enrol by 2024.
• Use the checklist in section G of the application form to confirm you have included all required documents.
• Email your completed application and supporting documents, as one single PDF file, by 5pm on 14 March 2024 to AboriginalTeacherScholarship@education.wa.edu.au .
• You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of application.
• The Department of Education will review all applications and notify you regarding the outcome and next steps.

Jean Kennoway Howells Scholarship

Andrew Grant Postgraduate Scholarships

We are offering 10 Andrew Grant Postgraduate Scholarships, for the sum of £10,500 each for postgraduate programmes in our five Schools: School of Art; School of Design; ESALA (Architecture and Landscape Architecture); History of Art; and the Reid School of Music.

Clare College invites applications for a postgraduate scholarship in any field of Christian theology.  The award is open to candidates without regard to age, gender, nationality or denomination, and will be awarded to a graduate who has been approved for a course of studies leading to a PhD degree in the Faculty of Divinity.  The suitable candidate will have a vocation to Christian ministry – lay or ordained – as well as a commitment to the academic study of theology in the service of the Church, and will be expected to assist the Dean in the life and ministry of the College Chapel.  The Decani Scholar contributes to weekly liturgical responsibilities as appropriate and by participating in chapel administration and activities alongside a strong team of Chapel Wardens.

This scholarship is also open to those already ordained who are engaged in, or who shall be pursuing, academic research and will start in October 2024.

The Roberta Sykes Indigenous Education Foundation provides supplementary financial assistance to Indigenous Postgraduate students who wish to undertake studies at any recognised overseas university. The scholarship is offered for one year, but recipients may reapply for a subsequent year of the same program of study. To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

• Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted as such by the community in which they live or have lived;
• Hold an Undergraduate degree with strong performance;
• Be accepted into a Postgraduate coursework or research degree at an overseas university;
• Be able to demonstrate that they have or will have sufficient funds to support themselves during the course of their Postgraduate study, such as through another scholarship, private sponsorship or personal funds;

The Harvard Travel Scholarship was established to assist high performing undergraduate students who have applied to study at Harvard as part of the Visiting Undergraduate Student (VUS) Program.

Each Scholarship is awarded to encourage high performing undergraduate students to undertake a period of study towards their UNSW degree at Harvard University.

As Harvard is not a partner university within the UNSW Exchange Program applicants must contact Harvard College directly regarding admission to the VUS program.

The Harvard VUS application is open from 1 February 2024 for the fall/ full academic year intake, students that have received notification of admission are required to upload their admission under supporting documents, as evidence of entry into Harvard University.

The scholarship will be tenable for one semester of study at Harvard. Please note: A partial repayment of any scholarship money awarded may be required if the candidate does not complete the one semester of study.

Scholarship recipients may choose to study at Harvard for more than one semester at their own expense.

Applicants should be aware that the Scholarship payment is a contribution towards study and living costs at Harvard and that separate funding will be required to cover the balance.

Overview The Toshiba Nathan Godby Engineering Scholarship was created to increase and broaden the pool of engineering and technology talent and provide UTS students an opportunity to gain industry experience at Toshiba International Corporation Pty Ltd. The scholarship was created to honour Nathan Godby, an UTS graduate, and late Toshiba employee, who had a passion for mechanical engineering. Who is eligible? To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicants must:

• Be Australian or New Zealand citizens, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
• Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice course, or combined Engineering courses with Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice; and

• Have achieved a minimum Credit Average (WAM 65 or above); and
